- The Gisborne Bushwalking Club commenced in 1982 and has offered walks continually since then.
- The membership is drawn largely from the Macedon Ranges region and from around Sunbury. However, some members also reside in Melbourne suburbs.
- Membership comprises a wide range of diverse ages, backgrounds and interests
- Activities centre on day walks, however, activities involving pack carrying and overnight camping are an option for the more adventurous members.
- Victorian and interstate base camps are popular in which cabin accommodation is usually arranged for periods from a weekend to a week or more.
- The aims of the Club are to encourage friendship, positivity and a healthy lifestyle.
